As an international educator for over 30 years, encouraging innovation, honouring rich traditions, trusting in the power of collaboration and leading with integrity and compassion have been the core elements of my educational philosophy. To serve to make a difference is my mantra.

Currently the Director of The British School New Delhi, it’s been an honour for me to have received the Order of the British Empire(OBE) in recognition of my services to British education in an international context, becoming the only Indian serving Principal to receive this honour in 2014. I was also the recipient of the Woman Achiever of the Year Award(2009).

During my directorial tenure, our school has won many prestigious awards including the Best British International School In The World(2018) and the Nasen(UK) award for Special Needs Provision(2020).

My recent election to the IB Heads Council, an advisory body to the Director General of the IBO, is an excellent opportunity to work with colleagues from across the world. I sit on the Executive Board of FOBISIA(Federation of British Schools of Asia) and on the Executive Committee of the all India IB Heads Association of which I am a founding member; am an active member of HMC(Headmasters & Headmistresses Conference, UK), and the Visiting Accreditation Teams for CIS(Council of International Schools); serve as Chair of the IB & IGCSE heads networks in North India, and the IC3 Presidential Committee; am a British Council ambassador; have also been an IBEN educator and have served as Honorary Secretary to Friends of Round Square, South East Asia & the Gulf Region.

As a trainer in classroom pedagogy and leadership, I have presented at international forums such as the IPEN, Bett Asia Leadership Summit(Malaysia), Global Round Square Conference(Germany, Dubai & Canada), FICCI, Amity University(Dubai), OP Jindal University, Ashoka University, TAISI (The Association of International Schools in India), Cambridge International Examinations Leadership Symposium(UK), and Cambridge Regional Workshop(Colombo) to name a few.

I am a PTC(Principals’ Training Center) & AISH(Academy of International School Heads) graduate, a certified international school leader, hold a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in History from St Stephens College, Delhi University, and was a University topper both in my Master’s degree and my teaching degree from Central Institute of Education, University of Delhi.
